The Arizona Cardinals will reportedly give QB Brian Hoyer the start against the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, according to Mike Jurecki. “He made some good throws,†Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said of Hoyer’s performance. “For not knowing the offense as well as he will with time, I think going in there just shows he’s a guy that’s been in the league, been around it. He obviously understands it. He did make some good throws.†Hoyer will be the fourth starting quarterback for the Cardinals this season and the team is likely just doing its due diligence and seeing what the ex-Patriot has before finding a long-term solution during the offseason. His first NFL start against the Niners in SF? Talk about a baptism under fire. I hope he remembers to wear his best running shoes as the almighty Cards O-Line breaks down one last time. Screw the rest of the team, they've proven they sucked in 2012 and would like one positive going into another dismal post-season. Good luck, Hoyer!!!
Yea this is what I was worried about. I wanted him to get start, but I wanted it to be a legit shot to succeed. That won't be in AZ.
He wasn't salvageable the day he got drafted! He was worthless before this year's injury, cashed an $8 million roster bonus before the start of the season and never played a down in 2012 (I'm sure that will be mentioned during the firing ceremony of the GM and hopefully Whisenhunt). Really don't think Levi will be the next Jimmy Morrison of the NFL, not in a Cards uniform anyway.
if the season went any longer, the cardinals might have brought vinny testaverde in for a tryout they are so desperate.
