I am not saying Alex sucks. What I am saying is it's over for him in SF so why beat a dead horse? Colin's the man now and that's the way it's going to be there.

Obviously Colin is the man there now. But with the negative connotations you used against Alex, it certainly seemed like you were implying he sucks.

No, what sucks is the crapty Wally Pepp deal he got. He gets hurt, hot hand comes in and takes over. Problem is he's not just taking over, he's owning it. Like it or not, Alex is done in SF. At this point lighting a candle for Alex in SF is a mute point.

I like Alex a lot, but I do feel that he owes a lot to Harbaugh and the rest of the staff for making him a relevant option in the NFL. Otherwise he may have been a bench quarterback somewhere else anyway, or out the league all together.

In a couple years you might be saying the same about Bradford

If I can critique Bradford as being a system QB in a few years that would suggest the Rams would be a successful team right?

I would happily accept that outcome.

Wow i'm surprised this turned into a quarter back comparison thread.

Alex Smith did a very good job when Harbaugh came around. IMO, and I seem to speak for a number of 49er fans, the word I would use to describe Alex Smith is "limited," especially when you're comparing him to Kaepernick. That's what it seems like when your watching games anyway. Alex never really lit any team up with passing stats. I think 2-3 times he threw for 300 yards in a game in his career, while he never really racked up the rushing numbers. Once Harbaugh came around he was able to limited the INTs and complete high percentage passes over and over again....which is fine unless you are trying to win the superbowl.

I'm kind of worried for Alex, because I think some qb needy team that has no oline is going to sign him, probably overpay him (so more fan/ownership pressure will be on him) and he'll get hit a lot and be ineffective again. It'll be 2005 all over again. Whats funny is right now, (also IMO) the 49ers have the best back up in football. If Kaepernick got hurt (god forbid) there wouldn't be a huge drop off. Once again, the offense would just be more "limited." Then again when you're trying to win the superbowl....

Kaepernick just needs to stay focused, and some day be a Tim Tebow type qb.

What, a 3rd stringer on a team in desperate need of qb help?

Kaep's already a better version of everything Tebow was supposed to be.

Well your boy Aaron has his championship belt move to grab attention as well, but unfortunately we won't be seeing that until next season :icon_cool:

And now back to talking about the "actual" game...What really surprised me about Kaep is his deceptive speed, one sec he's here and then wham, he's 30 yds. downfield..wtf...lol

like i stated in the last post i have no problem when the players celebrate on the field

its people out in public or on their cat butt facebook doing these taunts like they did something

if the 9ers get knocked out i dont think we see anyone else kissing their bicep until madden next august

    anyways

kaep is real fast but what else i noticed is his stride is huge

seemed like two strides = ten yards when hes at full speed
