well, all of the vegas favorites won and covered so not a lot of drama this weekend. the nfc match-ups next weekend look really good, though.

well, this weekend's games kicked the crap out of last weekend, especially if you like lots of offense. out of 8 participants, the lowest scoring teams scored 28 points ........ i'm sure that's a record.

there is something that's bothering me though ............... entering the playoffs, i mentioned that 10 of the 12 playoff teams were not 'new' and had been in the playoffs during the last couple of years. now, we have championship games which are basically repeats of last year, with only the falcons replacing the giants. i thought parity was supposed to take care of things like this....

having said that, we will have a new SB champ this year obviously since the giants didn't make the playoffs and i really, really hope it's anyone but the Pats because the 3 other teams not only haven't won a SB in many years, but they haven't even been there.

so, i really think for the health of the game, it would be good for the ravens to win the afccg and face the nfc team so we get a couple of new teams. if we're going to have the same teams in the playoffs year after year, let's at least rotate them in the SB to keep it somewhat unpredictable.

The pats haven't won a super bowl in like 8 years. What's predictable about then winning now? People talk like they win it all every year.

well, but they're in the game every other year ............ the majority of the world is bored with the pats. they are 1 step away from making their 6th trip in 12 years. i know YOU want them there again (obviously) but it makes things a little repetitive for the rest of us who are just casual viewers this time of year.

I can vouche for being bored with Brady in the big game. I like him getting there and losing though, that's been fun to watch.

I think that if the NFL had their druthers, the NFL would have liked to see the Seahawks against the Packers in the NFC. Remember the bad call the replacement refs made?

In the AFC, I think they would have liked to see Brady vs. Peyton.

as far as storylines for the super bowl, they would love harbaugh vs. harbaugh. they would love to see ray lewis in there for drama too.

brady is always a good draw to the fringe fan too though.

not sure what the storyline with the falcons would be, though. maybe if it were against the pats, it would be dimitroff going against his old team? doesn't seem real interesting......

Darren Rovel is a fantastic follow for anyone on twitter. He has great information tidbits and cool thoughts about sports and business. He said that as far as ticket prices go, Ravens vs 49ers is gold, Patriots vs Falcons is toilet paper.

He does a weekly interview on espn Chicago that I usually get to hear on my way home from work. He's a very smart guy and very entertaining. Whenever I check twitter (which is rare) I always go see what he's been saying.
