The New York Jets have hired former Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, a team source told NFL.com's Albert Breer. The Jets fired coordinator Tony Sparano after a season that can best be described as "turbulent." Mornhinweg joined the Eagles in 2003 and was named offensive coordinator in 2006. The unit was a Top 10 scoring offense from 2008-11, though Andy Reid is normally credited for that success. Source: NFL.com
well, obviously since this is the last job he can get, the rest of the league is figuring that out also ................ o.c. of the jets is the worst job in the league right now.
He's not as bad as y'all make him out to be. The issue is that he needs a decent QB in his offense to be reasonably good. The other issue was always Andy in the fact that he always told Marty that this was a pass first offense. He had one of the top 5 RB's in the NFL under him and couldn't do crap. Maybe if Rex says "We run, we throw" Marty won't be so bad. The Eagles offense was a lot of fun to watch sometimes but the lack of running killed them. They could have taken the league apart if they were run first. I think Marty will settle in here in NY and be fine. And the worst OC in the NFL is Tony Sparano. Hands down.
 the only time sparano has actually been an o.c. in the nfl is this past season with the jets .............. how can we judge any assistant coach in that mess? i guess the only questions about marty is how much was he actually doing in philly? when the eagles were consistently putting top 10 offenses on the field year after year with marty as o.c., i thought reid was calling all the plays? i'm just not sure how much marty was doing.
It doesn't help the Jets receivers are a joke at best plus Dustin Keller was in and out of the lineup all year long. This team didn't have any weapons to lean on. Sanchez was left to struggle on his own and he was exposed.
