Former Dolphins quarterback Pat White wants another shot at the NFL according to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post. “I’m still young. My legs are still with me,†he said Monday at the Senior Bowl. “I’m like a 2009 model with about 4,500 miles on it. It still runs just as smooth.†He’s hoping to find an NFL executive who agrees and will give him a job. White, the Dolphins’ controversial second-round pick in ‘09 who flamed out of the NFL after just one season, spent Monday shaking hands with NFL personnel people on a high school field outside Mobile. White didn’t get an NFL tryout after being cut by the Dolphins in September 2010, but believes he still can play in the league. “I know that I can still do it,†said White, a Mobile-area native who still lives in Fort Lauderdale. “I just want to come out here, shake hands, show my face and let coaches know that I’m interested.†White, who received $2.4 million in guaranteed money from the Dolphins, takes the blame for his NFL failure. “Just wasn’t mentally ready to compete at the level that I needed to be,†he said. Wasn't he a product of WV's system? I remember him being good but not that good. He could go the Denard Robinson route and try to be a WR or something. Is DRob going to do that too in order to be drafted?
I remember reading a bunch of reports that he was one of the most impressive QBs as far as workouts went leading up to the draft. But if he's watching the successes of RG3, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick and thinking he can do that too... he should also take note of how much bigger all of those guys are than he is.
