Ravens LB Ray Lewis Addresses Banned Substance Allegation

According to a Sports Illustrated report, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis used deer antler spray that contains IGF-1, which is banned by the NFL, Kareem Copeland of NFL.com reports.

Lewis gave a quick reply at the Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday that ended in a "next question."

"Two years ago that was the same report," Lewis said. "I wouldn't give that report or him any of my press. He's not worthy of that."

The substance was supposedly provided by S.W.A.T. owner Mitch Ross. S.W.A.T. (Sports with Alternatives to Steroids) is a sports science company with imaginative means of performance enhancement.

From what I've heard, and maybe I heard it wrong, this is for his most recent injury...so this occurred this season.

 

Yea this was for his injury this season per PFT.

Second chance Goddell has to suspend Lewis for the Super Bowl. He ain't got the balls to do that...lol.

It's come up several times as a banned substance. I think it was commonly used and banned in MLB too.

 

he probably said heck it, im retiring so i might as well cheat. if he keeps his word nothing will happen. pretty hecked up.

 

so SI is just claiming he took it again this time because Ray was implicated with the stuff by Yahoo a couple of years ago also. He's apparently still a customer.
