Chris Culliver, a second-year cornerback, reportedly made disparaging comments about homosexuality in football during an interview with a radio-show host Tuesday at the Super Bowl’s media day.

Culliver told Artie Lange that gay teammates would not be welcome in the locker room, according to quotes posted by Yahoo! Sports.

“I don’t do the gay guys man,†Culliver said. “I don’t do that. No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.

“Can’t be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can’t be…in the locker room man. Nah.â€

Culliver suggested that homosexual athletes keep their sexuality private until 10 years after they retire.

 when do these idiots learn??? Shut up about controversial things...focus on the task at hand and that isn't giving your personal opinion about ANYTHING that you'll have to apologize for later..

It was only a matter of time before a player said something like this once Kwame Harris's story was released. Ignorant and hateful indeed.

He also plays for San Fran freaking Cisco, you'd think maybe he'd have encountered a few gays out there and would be used to it.

Even if you don't like the gays personally, there's a if difference between feeling that way and expressing it publicly like a... well, cocksucker.

Not by choice. Last he made a choice it was SC, so not too surprising really. Very under-rated player, but I don't think I can respect him with that attitude

I see nothing wrong with what he said. He is just saying what alot of dudes is thinking. You can call him hateful with no empathy but when it comes down to it your talking about a huge amount of people. You know in your heart of hearts you dont wanna be washing your balls with another dude that likes men around. By chance you do, more power to you. Gotta love freedom of speech

Just because some people think the same way doesn't make it right, and just because a guy's gay doesn't mean he wants to look at your crap or finds you attractive. If you want, lobby for shower stalls, but people snitch when you even want to change things like that which don't matter.

I guess what I'm saying is it's absolutely ignorant to say players can't be gay in the NFL, not to mention discriminatory if you're argument is locker-room based. And if someone has to lie (or even his more insulting proposition that gays wait 10 years after retirement to say anything about being gay) because it makes other people uncomfortable, that's really crapty.

And free speech is fine, but his rights wasn't restricted and the First Amendment doesn't say you can say whatever you want without consequences, particularly when you're speaking in public or on the god**mn radio saying dumb crap

He has every right to say it, and I have to respect that. I don't, however, have to respect his opinion.

his sentiments are still very prevalant throughout all college and professional sports. most players don't want gay teammates. however, they shouldn't say it publically.

Torii Hunter said pretty much the same thing but way more politically correct. Culliver is an idiot.

And he was rightfully blasted for it as well. Theres no more merit to not wanting homosexuals in sports or in the locker room than there was for not wanting blacks.

You would think Torii would be a little more empathetic to their cause since he's got a girl's name.
