What the Jets are going to do with Darrelle Revis may be unclear, but it seems the odds of Manti Te’o joining Gang Green are slim. In an interview that appeared on the Jets website Thursday, former GM and current senior personnel executive Terry Bradway said the former Notre Dame star’s performance in the BCS title game “scares you a little bit. “He’s a good football player, a lot of us gave him a pretty good grade,†said Bradway, “but when you look at the Alabama game, it just scares you a little bit.†In that 42-14 loss to Alabama, Te’o seemed overmatched, missing numerous tackles. Two weeks later, Deadspin.com reported Te’o’s heartbreaking relationship with a girlfriend in California was a hoax. “It’s an unusual situation. I feel bad for him,†Bradway said. “The stress of the situation has to have an impact on his training. “I think it’s caused everyone to go back and re-watch and see exactly what we have here. It will be interesting to see where he gets drafted.†Source: New York Daily News
well, he definitely scares me as a top 10 pick, which is where he was slotted before the crap hit the fan. if his entire career isn't going to be a circus (which i'm doubtful at this point), then he would be worth drafting somewhere.
He really needs to go to a team with a strong defensive leader that can mentor him cause it sounds like he really needs some help of some kind. He may be suffering from some undiagnosed mental disease. This whole hoax thing just doesn't sound right to me. I think he can be a serviceable player but not an impact player.
lol he gets hoaxed and is all over the news and all of the sudden has no chance of being an impact player....classic over analysis
You're right. Probably has nothing to do with getting clowned in the biggest game of his life. I didn't say he couldn't be an impact player. I just said I didn't want him. He's not worth the headache.
the post above yours says he wont be an impact player. he got destroyed after his line got destroyed by arguably the best oline in college footballs recent memory. you dont have to put the team on your shoulders as a MLB in the NFL, actually thats about the opposite of what a 34 MLB does. THey have a role that they have to play, he tried to be a hero and failed, but thats not how a pro defense works
If he's surrounded by some good leaders and gets himself in front of a sports psychologist he might be okay
They are scared of Teo but wanted Tebow? Okay....Teo has way more upside than Tebow every had or will have. Yeah he got schooled by Alabama and he got catfished ( thanks to him I now know what that term means ) but he is still a good player who can improve, despite what his 4.8 time says. I'm betting he'll have a decent pro career. He should stay off the internet for the time being though.
