The market for Reggie Bush is a good one, with multiple teams showing significant interest in the prospective free agent running back.

A source very close to Bush tells Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald three teams have been talking to Bush agent Joel Segal and that money involved in those talks is significant. The source would provide no details of the money or name the teams but it is clear the interest in Bush isn't just of the making-a-call variety.

The source is, however, is telling Salguero that the Dolphins are not one of those teams.

Indeed, the source is saying Reggie Bush categorically will not be back in Miami.

I wonder if the source close to Bush is saying that the money involved is significant in order to make the teams one up each other with offers. That's what I would do.

yep, a lot of misinformation campaigns going on right now.

however, it still surprises me the phins don't want him back at all.

That's not true, they would want him back at a very team friendly deal.

well, sure, i'm sure if the phins could get him to play for nothing, they would keep him. but, if the reports are true and his market value is at a certain level and the phins only want him at half the price or whatever they're offering, then pretty much the phins don't want him.

it's not like the phins are having cap problems so they just don't value bush anywhere close to what his value is apparently.

Oh I agree, but this notion that Bush is a three down back is a little skewed because he can't block for crap so if he is out there for a passing down he isn't staying in so send six guys kind of deal. That isn't worth more than 5-6 million a year.

is that what the phins have offered? if so, then that should be plenty.

i don't think he's going to get more than that anywhere.

I've read bush is looking around 6-7 million a year. The Dolphins want to give him close to what they did when he was traded for, which was a 2 year 8 million dollar deal, but with escalators.

oh, if that's the case, then i can see why bush wants to walk. the length of that contract blows. that's something you give an old guy.

he's 28 years old and this will be his last decent contract so it needs to be lengthy. i'm sure he's looking for a 4 or 5 year deal with some decent guaranteed money. i'm sure 4 yrs/$20 mill with $10 mill guaranteed would get it done and that's honestly probably what he's worth in the league.

The money was said to be the same not the length of the deal.
