The Denver Broncos may be shopping defensive end Elvis Dumervil according to Mike Klis of denverpost.com.

Dumervil is scheduled to make $12 million in 2013 and that salary becomes fully guaranteed if he remains with the team by next Saturday. The Broncos want Dumervil to agree to a pay cut but he has thus far refused to do so.

Dumervil is an excellent player but is 29 and his production has not kept up with his escalating salary the past two seasons, primarily due to injury. The Broncos are reportedly investigating whether free agent defenders such as Dwight Freeney, Osi Umenyiora, or Michael Bennett migt offer more\the same bang for fewer bucks.

yeah for real, I have always liked this guy. I like him more as a 4-3 end. He's undersized but he has all the moves to get to the QB.

He has a big contract to take on, so nothing more than a 4th rounder or so, because he hasn't exactly been healthy his entire career.

Falcons would be great for him. Reunited with Nolan. As a 49ers fan i hope it doesn't happen but it would be a perfect fit.

Hes really only had one significant injury in his career, is scheme-diverse, and he's basically a lock for double digit sacks. His salary numbers after this year arent that bad, and I'd think the Broncos would eat some of this years salary if he was traded, so he wouldnt be costing the buyer his full 13+ this year. Thats a pretty attractive package if youre a team hurting for passrush and have money to spend, IMO. Way more attractive than a 4th.

I doubt Denver will eat any of his contract, not to mention he is a small player at a brutal position making 8 figures the next few years, the only way I see anyone biting is if he re-works his deal like Bush did with the Dolphins. But this comes down to why trade for a player that might be cut?

I'm really hoping ATL hops on Dumervil.

    Would be the perfect fit.

if this is true, i'm sure they will have many interested parties. guys that can create pressure and sacks are valuable commodities in this league.

still confused as to why the broncos are doing this if they don't need the cap space.

Dumervil isn't a John Fox guy...... I guess.
