All eight of NFL.com's draft analysts project Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd to the Oakland Raiders with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

If Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie gets his way, though, he won't be picking in the top five. The Raiders want to trade down to recoup the second-round pick that was sent to the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 Carson Palmer trade, SI.com's Peter King reported in his "Monday Morning Quarterback."

King also writes that the Cleveland Browns "badly" want to trade out of the sixth spot, perhaps with designs on landing West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith a few picks later. The Browns might end up being a "wild card" in the Smith hunt, according to NFL.com's Albert Breer.

i'm sure every team wants to trade down if they are near the top this year. there just isn't much difference in talent between the top 10 players and the next 10 so if a team can pick up an extra pick, they should.

But it's really not as terrible with the new CBA...

Is a deal gonna get hammered out or could he still be a draft day trade? Love me some Spencer, but Sheard's also a stud, a possible good conversion if he can drop back and a really good, young overall player IMO.

yep, it's really not about the money anymore. it's about accumulating extra picks.

The Landry Hat, which is a Cowboys blog/forum, is saying the same thing about Dallas. That they'll drop down with someone in an effort to get extra picks.

Everyone always says we'll trade down, when do we ever do it?

We've done it like twice in the last 12 years in the first round.

We're way more likley to trade up then.down

I have read the Chargers may want the Browns pick so they can grab a top OT. Also read the Cards may want to trade up for the same reason and the Raiders would make sense. Would almost ensure they get either Fisher or Joekel

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

They love sheard and they would never do that. He and kruger are awesome OLBs to start a 34 with, especially with how giant their dline is
I want the steelers to trade up in the first 2 rounds to secure the players they need the most....patterson/elam, patterson/lemonier, patterson/amerson or jarvis jones/hunter, jarvis jones/woods, jones/allen, jones/hopkins ect
You can take a WR, RB, CB, or OG in the top 3 and it might cause a little surprise but it doesnt HAVE to be a QB, DE, LT, DT anymore...which is the best thing about the salary cap i think, you can really just take the best player

Reports and speculation are almost interchangeable at this point in the year. Rubin had his breakout season at nose tackle, not sure why he'd be on the list of people to get rid of. And for Sheard, the price would have to be high, he's an all-around solid player.

i think we will see a fair amount of trades. there is some depth at certain positions from what i have heard so if a team needs to target a certain position, they may be willing to trade up.
