For the Cowboys fans that are here, what final grade do you give the Cowboys in the 2013 NFL Draft? I give them a C.
I give them a B The players they got I would give a B+ They lost on a trade and didn't pick a DE, which we could be thin at if Wilber doesn't transition well, and Spencer is still on the tag. I would have picked Lemonier in the second. Tank Carradine mayyyyybe but Lemonier is a better system fit as Marinelli prefers his DE's to penetrate more and not worry so much about gap control. I also would have liked a mid round intiror OL The good, and something people aren't really talking about is in 2 and 3 years we will shave a lot cap cutting guys like Austin, Scandrick and Durant I hated not taking Floyd until I found out Marinelli didn't want him. If you loon at the production, a guy with 4.5 career sacks in college isn't a first round 3 Tech in a line scheme where your 3 Tech is expected to get 7 to 10 sacks Sent from my HTC Vivid
I have to say a C as well. While fine with the Frederick pick an the trade back we don't even look at any more olinemen which blew my mind biggest area of need by far. A second round TE? Are we going to run 3 TE sets now? Just stupid. Should have went Mauti in the sixth.
The picks of Frederick and Escobar and the fact that they didn't get a DL make the grade a C for me. Rainer Sabin, staff writer for the Dallas Morning News, today graded the teams in the NFC East when it came to the draft. His grades: Cowboys-B. Redskins-B. Eagles-B+. Giants-A.
Monte Kiffin is alright with the D-Line as is and was more concerned about LB depth. Naturally, this implies Spencer will likely be with us long term. That being said, we fulfilled the request of Monte Kiffin (and especially so since we got UDFA LB Magee). I won't hold no DL against them just because we all think it's a need, because they clearly know more than we do. Frederick has grown on me (even though my beard is still better, heck him). I'm good with all the other picks aside from the TE.. but I'm not even going to judge that for now, I'm going to see what their plan is before I throw a tantrum (something more Cowboys fans should try). That being said, I'm willing to give them a B+ personally. Would be a A- if we didn't go TE in the second or if we got more for the trade back, either one would bump us in my honest opinion.
Williams and Webb could take well over 10 million off the cap next year. Not sure what Austin is getting, but 2014 Scan is due 5 and 7 in 2015 Sent from my HTC Vivid
I watched some videos on all these guys and Webb is one of the ones I'm most excited for. He seems to have a nose for the ball, even if he was playing lesser competition..and he isn't afraid to tackle, and wraps up real nice. Can't wait to see him play.
Anyone see the grade that Jason Cole of Yahoo gave the Cowboys? He gave them an F. It wasn't that bad, was it?
