Broncos WR Wes Welker Says Patriots Didn't Undervalue Him: It's 'Business'

Wes Welker returned to Boston Wednesday for an event, staged by a hair transplant business with whom he is a paid spokesman. He took time out to talk to reporters about leaving the Patriots for the Broncos. Welker didn’t appear to harbor any lingering bitterness at Pats management for failing to retain him, Adam Kurkjian of the Boston Herald reports.

“No, not at all,†Welker said when asked if he felt the Patriots undervalued him in the free agency process. “Unfortunately, it’s the business side of football and as a player you understand it. So, you just move on and look toward the future.â€

Welker denied ever saying that Tom Brady was “angry†when the wideout left to play with rival Peyton Manning.

“No, I don’t think I ever said that he was angry,†Welker said of Brady. “I think, obviously we’re really good friends, and so any time you lose a friend from your team like we’ve had over the past couple years, you’re upset about it. But I never said he was angry.â€

Brady may not be angry over losing Welker but the fans should be. Welker has pulled a lot of points out of the air for NE.

He lost you the Super Bowl? Welker by himself lost you the Super Bowl? Not the fact that that throw was a little high? Not the fact the Gronk wasn't healthy and got beat on a jump ball by Chase Blackburn. Who the f*ck is Chase Blackburn? Oh, he's the guy that outjumped Gronk in the Super Bowl. Brady opens the game with a safety for intentional grounding. Really? Tom Brady makes a stupid mistake like that? Welker missed 1 pass and you guys crucify him. The whole team was to blame for that Super Bowl. Not just Welker

Nothing else matters, despite all the things you listed it still came down to one simple catch to seal the game.

So the defense isn't to blame for letting the Giants drive the field for the winning score? Seriously?

That never exists if the catch is made.

It came down to the catch. All the crap you listed happened, yes, and it all lead up to Welker catching one ball to seal the deal. That was it. If he catches it, we win. He dropped it.

"A little high."? Sounds line a play you should make in the super bowl. Watch the replay right now. I'll even do the hard part for you.

The ball hits Welker in BOTH PALMS. Its high and outside because the safety is coming from the inside. Welker had it literally in the palm of his hands and choked away a super bowl.

And your defense couldn't protect the lead. Y'all need to look at the whole team, not one player
