Aaron Hernandez hasn't yet been released from custody, but he has been released by the New England Patriots. The Patriots are essentially washing their hands of the star tight end, who was arrested this morning in connection with the homicide investigation into the death of Odin Lloyd last week. Hernandez was an acquaintance of Lloyd's and the two were together in the hours before Lloyd was killed. Police have not yet revealed what charges Hernandez faces from his arrest, but the Patriots issued the following statement shortly after the arrest was made: "A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.†Source: National Football Post
If it were any other organization, I'd assume this meant they knew he was guilty of assisting at the very least.. but with them, I assume Belichek just said heck it.
No one would pick him off of waivers having to eat that contract if he goes to prison. Urban Meyer sure did recruit some fine young men lol
Well, he's a Florida Gator, so he's naturally scum. If he had gone to FSU, he would've been a good, law-abiding citizen. That's a fact
Probably right. Apparently the straw that broke the camel's back in the saga of Hernandez and his arrogance.
