The sheriff in charge of the Bristol County jail where former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is being held as he awaits a trial date after being charged with first-degree murder says he won’t allow Hernandez to get married as long as he is in his facility. Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson told USA Today that if he tries to do that for a legal courtroom strategy or for another reason, it’s not happening. Hernandez is engaged to the mother of his 7-month-old daughter. If he was married to his fiance’ Shayanna Jenkins, she could be shielded from testifying against Hernandez at a trial. â€I don’t subscribe to that. I feel that those rights are things that you access on the outside, if you’re a good citizen,†Hodgson said. “We’ll do everything we can to not have that happen.†Hernandez has been held without bail at the Bristol County jail since June 26, the day he was arrested and charged with killing 27-year old Odin Lloyd. I thjnk I did hear something that it is more or less up to the authorities to allow or disallow that.
Pre-trial I think it is completely up to the discretion of the authorities if they think a potential witness would instantly get immunity.
That would be cruel to force the child to grow up a bastard instead of giving her a chance to have a normal life with 2 parents. Just heartless...
He'll be able to marry her after the trial. It's just to prevent her from being immune to testifying.
This is all bullcrap. This dude's got bigger problems than getting married (unless he's trying to shut her up legally).
What about common law marriage. Hmmmmm. He shouldn't be denied he isn't guilty of anything at this point. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
