The Cowboys will keep an eye on how much quarterback Tony Romo throws in training camp, although they won’t have a “pitch count†for him, Carlos Medez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

“It’s more communication – ‘How you feeling?’ – and also, you look at the ball,†head coach Jason Garrett said Saturday in Oxnard, Calif., where the Cowboys are getting ready for their first practice on Sunday. “Does the ball look a little dead or tired? But mostly, it’s communication with him and how he’s feeling. We’ll all get a sense for that.â€

Romo had a cyst removed from his back in April, so he did not participate in the OTAs or mini-camp.

“One of the challenges for Tony, when you have a back injury, is it’s hard for you to actually to stay in the kind of shape you want to be in,†Garrett said. “Really proud of how he’s worked since he’s been able to get back and running and doing the things he needs to do. He looks great. He looks lean to me. We do have to monitor his throwing. I don’t think it’ll be significant."

Less throws, less interceptions. Strategy they should try this season

I just cant wait until he retires without any significant playoff wins so I don't have to tell cowboys fans how bad he is anymore.

I think I'll save this post for posterity to remind you what you said, Steve.

You won't need to remind me.

The loyalty you show to this guy just baffles me.

    1. Look at his stats, Steve.

    2. Give me the name of a QB who's sitting around the house, unemployed who's better. Can you?

Look at his playoff record ragman. Regular season stats don't matter when discussing QB greatness. Just ask Joe Flacco.

I'm not saying there's a QB on a couch that is better than him. I'm just saying Cowboys fans seem to defend this guy to the death. They are sure that he is their savior, even when he's been in the league around 10 years and hasn't won crap.
