Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is eyeing Emmitt Smith's NFL career rushing record. He hopes to break the record by 2017. Peterson is also hoping to rush for 2,500 yards this season one year removed from gaining 2,097 yards, eight yards shy of Eric twinkyerson's single-season record of 2,105 yards last season. Peterson, 28, would need to gain 9,506 yards more to tie Smith's all-time rushing record of 18,355 yards. Peterson currently has 8,849 yards. "That's pushing it, huh?" Peterson told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. "But hey, pushing it is the only way to do it. You know it." Source: National Football Post
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor I like Peterson's frame of mind. Goals like this will motivate him to even greater success than he's already had in the NFL. Hope he has crapty games against the Bears though..lol
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor He'll probably retire 9 yards short of the record lol
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor If theres one guy I would love to see break Emmitt Smith's alltime rushing record, it's Adrian Peterson. He's a pain in the butt against the Bears but he's fun to watch.
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor I Hope he shatters the record, but I do not think I would be bragging about it with over 8 thousand yards to go,especially coming off the injury he had.
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor Should be a lay up for Peterson. A. He's required to wear thigh and knee pads now. So now he's protected from injury. B. In 2 years there won't be tackling. Injuries won't occur.
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor A. Thigh and knee pads don't protect against tears. B. Your wrong. Football won't exist in two years.
Re: Vikings RB Adrian Peterson Targets Date For Breaking Emmitt Smith's Rushing Recor Emmitt's record will stand forever.
