The newly-acquired Carson Palmer tossed a 38-yard touchdown pass in his first game as a Cardinal and Arizona downed the Green Bay Packers, 17-0, in the preseason opener for both teams. Palmer went 4-for-6 for 77 yards and a touchdown for Arizona, which played in its first game under new head coach Bruce Arians. The Cardinals swung a deal for the veteran quarterback Palmer from the Oakland Raiders in an offseason trade. The 33-year-old spent the past two seasons in Oakland after the Raiders acquired him from Cincinnati for a pair of high picks, including a 2012 first-round choice, in October 2011. Stepfan Taylor ran for 63 yards on 21 carries in his rookie debut and Jaron Brown had five receptions for 46 yards and a score for the Cardinals, who were 5-11 a year ago. Never being the one to talk smack (:icon_rolleyes:) or believe everything heard on the radio, almost to a teammate, radio know-it-all or staffer, the vast majority (me included) believe if Palmer has O-Line protection and doesn't have to run for his life, he will do amazingly well. If nothing else, even at age 63, that dude is smooth on the radio and very level-headed with respect to expectations and predictions. #13 Vince Young.......
Agreed. When it comes time for contract extension, all the teams that blew him off as a risky headcase will be lined up if he continues like he did last night.
Gotta believe he and Tebow are on their respective teams to QB the run options during practice. Their teammates will at least get a look at what other teams will be doing during games. Otherwise, useless.
