If Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout were baseball's commissioner, Alex Rodriguez would be banned from the sport for life. "To me, personally, I think you should be out of the game if you get caught," Trout said Monday during an interview with New York radio station WFAN. "It takes away from the guys that are working hard every day and doing it all-natural." Rodriguez currently is appealing a 211-game suspension, which runs through the 2014 season, for violating Major League Baseball's drug policy. The three-time MVP has appeared in five games this season with the New York Yankees and homered in Sunday's victory over the Detroit Tigers. Source: ESPN
Nope. Guys are getting paid regardless. As long as they get their money they don't care. Cheat your way into $50 million, sit out for 50 games, then keep collecting checks like it never happened. Its not anywhere near a good enough deterrent. Screw this 3 strike crap. 1st offense 162 games, second offense gtfo for good.
I remember when the policy was 10 games for the first offense, 30 games for the second offense, and then lifetime ban after that back in 2005 and I thought that was a complete joke. I'm starting to think 50 games is not enough myself.
