The Dallas Cowboys haven't had much luck landing an over-the-hill offensive lineman. Ten days after veteran guard Brandon Moore chose retirement over a one-year contract with the team, it appears free-agent guard Brian Waters won't be joining the fun, either. "We've kind of moved on from there, for the time being," Cowboys executive vice president/COO Stephen Jones said Saturday, per The Dallas Morning News. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport told Around The League that the pursuit of Waters is viewed as dead, according to a source involved in the situation. A second source told FOXSportsSouthwest.com that, "It looks like (Waters) just doesn't want to play football." Source: NFL.com
It's obvious that Waters and his agent want more than what the Cowboys are willing to pay. While the Cowboys are about $10 million under the cap, they still have to work out new deals for Lee this year and Smith, Dez, and Carter next year.
Honestly i think Waters isnt the awnser. Moore was the guy that made sence. Waters im a little skeptical can come in an actually contribute. Unfortunatly if they want a vet inside, there is little to nothing out there now. Fortunatly the intirior looks like it should be much better the the last two season. Leary and Frederick have been outstanding, and even Arkin and Bernadeau have looked like they at least wont be liabilities Sent from my HTC Vivid
