Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller likely will be suspended at least six games for violation of the league's substance policy, Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN report. This according to league sources.

The announcement could come as early as Monday but it is expected to be formalized sometime this week, according to the sources.

Miller is not likely to go forward with an appeal, though all sides were trying to finalize the suspension's conditions.

Miller met last Thursday with the NFL Players Association with some hope he could have the suspension reduced to four games, sources said, but another source familiar with the process was convinced it will be at least a six-game suspension.

And I heard that he won't appeal the 6 game suspension...but he was all set to appeal the 4 games.

Something is going to come out here in the next few days...lol.

i just looked it up and a 6-game suspension comes from a 3rd failed violation or failed test. i believe the first failed test gets 'treatement'. the 2nd gets 4 games. and the 3rd gets 6 games. but these violations can be missing a treatment session or a test. it doesn't necessarily mean failed tests.

miller needs to get his crap together though. didn't he just get arrested for something recently too?

He never got suspended 4 games though. So how can it skip through stage one and two and get to three so fast? I heard his sample was watered down or something to that and that counts as a fail...but he was never suspended 4 games...right?

maybe if he had 2 more violations before he even got the 4 game suspension then it jumps right to the 6 game suspension? but then, shouldn't he actually get a 10 game suspension?

That would be my logic. Evidentially, there was a lot more behind it (sounds like tampering) and looks like the next time he gets a violation, it's a year suspension.
