Tony Romo threw two touchdown passes and the Dallas Cowboys' first-team offense finally got into the end zone, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 24-18 on Saturday night. After completing 13 of 18 passes for 137 yards, with TD passes to Dez Bryant and Miles Austin for a 14-7 halftime lead, Romo was done. Cincinnati got its first touchdown on Brandon Tate's 75-yard punt return. That came when Cowboys punter Chris Jones had to re-kick after hitting the large video boards hanging over the field. Romo played five series, matching what the first-teamers had in the Cowboys' last two preseason games, when they managed only a field goal and had two fumbles. I'm fairly confident in both sides of the ball. Parnell didn't look too great when I focused on him and Free actually looked substantially better at guard than I expected. However, our special teams have been a freaking joke thus far and it's actually growing pretty concerning for me.
Im wondering if we scan the wire for castoffs, we look at veteren OTs over OGs Our OG group isnt great, but fairly deep. However Parnell has been a huge disappointment and Bell is out of shape. OT is very thin Sent from my HTC Vivid
Watching a lot of the preseason games and I'm feeling like they've been taking the games a lot more serious this year instead of just working on things. Maybe 18 games is more realistic than I thought
A Titans punter hit it in 2009 named Trapasso. It may be the first time that a Cowboys punter has hit it. Good game last night for the Cowboys, except for penalties and special teams play.
I don't think it will be too much of a problem at OT now provided there is no injury. Obviously, that's a lot to ask for us at this point. I can't believe Bell still isn't in shape though. That said, I would imagine we'd keep an eye on the wire but I just have to doubt anything worth a damn drops, but you never know.
Just watched the replay of this game and the first TD drive by Dallas was the Dez Bryant show. It didn't matter who was in front of him, Bryant played them all. That was impressive.
It would save us a lot of money on Durant too. I don't mind us keeping Sims, especially since he's got some flexibility, but Durant can go. You know, if Holloman can actually be even solid, we have a pretty freaking good young linebacker corp.
