As he heads toward the conclusion of another sensational season with the Detroit Tigers, Cabrera has a decent shot at becoming the first major league player to win the Triple Crown in successive seasons. Entering play Tuesday, Cabrera comfortably led the AL with a .359 batting average, 29 points higher than runner-up Mike Trout. His 130 RBIs were best in the league, too, 12 better than Davis. Nah. Not if you hear exactly what Davis said. He basically was just talking about winning being more important to him than hitting HRs, while giving props to Cabrera.
Miggy is a great player and hitter. If he wins it back-to-back..just wow. That's incredible. The fact he even has this legit a shot with a month left in the season. Spectacular.
The sad thing is, that as great as Miggy is, hardly anyone knows about him. If he played in New York or a similar market, he'd be infinitely more famous.
Spot on about Davis' intentions, but the media has a a tendency to create a story line that's non-existent.
