It appears that Vince Young will not be the backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. The Packers made it official on Saturday, releasing the 30-year-old veteran as well as 21 others to move their roster down to 53 players. Other players released from the Packers organization were fullback Jonathan Amosa, tackles Andrew Datko and Kevin Hughes, safety David Fulton, centers Garth Gerhart and Patrick Lewis, running back Alex Green, wide receivers Charles Johnson, Tyrone Walker and Myles White, linebackers Terrell Manning, Dezman Moses and Donte Savage, cornerbacks Loyce Means, James Nixon and Brandon Smith, defensive tackle Jordan Miller, tight ends Matthew Mulligan, Jake Stoneburner and D.J. Williams and safety Chaz Powell. Source: Sports Network
Re: Packers Release QB Vince Young Wow, I honestly thought the Packers would keep VY after cutting Harrell.
Re: Packers Release QB Vince Young I think it was more an issue of $$$. Why pay Young if he is going to suck when you have another backup QB who you can pay peanuts to ride the bench? I think if Young had looked good they may have kept him but he show that he is really an insurance policy incase Rodgers gets hurt, so why pay him to ride the bench? I dont know offhand what they are paying Coleman but Im sure its not what Young would have gotten.
Re: Packers Release QB Vince Young Last year...I believe he didn't make their final 53 man roster either.
Re: Packers Release QB Vince Young Tebow and Young cut on the same day...oh the humanity...what is this world coming to?!?
