The Dallas Cowboys acquired linebacker Edgar Jones from the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday for an undisclosed draft pick. The Cowboys created room for Jones on their 53-man roster by putting offensive lineman Nate Livings on season-ending injured reserve. Jones played 57 games over six seasons with the Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. He has been primarily a special teams player, with 39 career special teams tackles and three fumble recoveries. On defense, Jones has nine tackles and 1.5 sacks. Source: Sporting News
I'm not sure what the point in this move was, honestly. I know we only had 5 linebackers as we cut to 53, but it doesn't sound like this guy has any value as a linebacker. It does, however, indicate that their concerns about our special teams are more than they've let on.
