J'Marcus Webb started 44 games on the offensive line for the Chicago Bears the past three seasons. But he was released by the Bears this week. It didn't take long for him to find a new home in the same division. The Vikings claimed Webb off waivers Sunday, according to a source. Webb presumably will play in that swing tackle role as primary backup to Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt. Source: Star Tribune
This makes literally no sense whatsoever. You would think seeing him first hand twice a season would have been enough of a warning against this move :\
Unless Webb plays guard, he won't see playing time at either offensive tackle position unless Loadholt or Kalil get hurt.
Plus, it's not like he can give them any 'inside information' on the blocking scheme, because he never learned crap about it.
Amen... Scheme is too new and he was too distracted. Now we just get the Packers to sign Onobun and we're golden...
i guess if they got him cheap and just for depth, it's fine edit: i just looked up his 2013 salary and it's supposedly $1.3 mill. probably about right for some depth on the o-line
