Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper, who made some unwanted headlines over the summer when he was caught on video using a racial slur, made some more unwanted headlines on Thursday when he got into a spat with teammate Cary Williams at practice.

Philadelphia running back LeSean McCoy doesn't think Cooper will any more problems with his teammates going forward, but he does think Cooper will have a few problems when he's facing other teams.

"I think for sure a lot of guys are going to try and do dirty things to him," McCoy said, via Phillymag.com. "Obviously they are going to say things to get under his skin. For one, they are opponents so they are going to try and do anything to get the advantage. And two, I think maybe some of the words that he did say offended a lot of guys. We definitely have his back. Even in preseason guys said different things, small things."

As for the situation between Williams, Cooper and the rest of the team, McCoy said it's all good now, "Everything's been great. Everything is completely, 100 percent normal, talking to everybody, everybody talking to me. We're all real close -- everybody, Cary included. He's my boy," McCoy said.

"In the beginning when the whole situation happened, guys were different to him and didn't really speak to him," McCoy continued. "They really didn't know how to take it. But now, it seems like normal again. He's interacting with every guy -- the offense, the defense, myself. There is no difference between me and him and other guys."

Things might be normal between Cooper and his teammates -- although it didn't look that way on Thursday -- but the more interesting thing to keep an eye on is if McCoy's right about teams trying to do dirty things to Cooper.

Cooper will get his first taste of an opposing team on Monday, when Philadelphia opens its season at Washington.

Hopefully it will lead to defensive penalties to help the Eagles out.

meh ... they might razz him a little, but after a few weeks, I doubt much will come of it.

on a side note, I'd like to do dirty things to "Try and do dirty things" to Sara Underwood. But I don't think she said anything racist...

McCoy may say everything is cool with the team right now, but I seen the video. I can read lips. Cary is not cool with Cooper:icon_smile:

McCoy is just bringing it up after you have not heard anything about it before the other day for awhile. He is probably saying it to get the ref's attention, who knows?

Underlying story will be if teams can sucker the Eagles into 'defending their guy' penalties.

And williams strikes me as the type of guy who has never used a racial slur in his life.
