While several teams could probably use wide receiver help, and might start looking at veterans starting in week two when salaries are no longer guaranteed for vested players, one intriguing option is apparently ready to hang up his cleats.

Brandon Lloyd, who played last year with the New England Patriots and played for six teams in a 10-year career, is planning to retire from football, according to Jason LaCanfora.

If this is the end for Lloyd, then he leaves with 385 receptions and 35 touchdowns in a career that took him from the 49ers, to the Redskins, Bears, Broncos, Rams and Patriots.

Funny that +/-20% of his receptions and 30+% of his TDs came in 2010. Surprised with those numbers he was able to have a 10-year career.

Probably the reason he was around so long. Coaches were hoping he'd make those plays more consistently
