NFL free agent writer Brian McIntyre reports that Chicago Bears veteran wide receiver Earl Bennett agreed to a $1 million pay cut this week, slashing his 2013 base salary from $2.25 million to $1.25 million. The move offers the Bears some much-needed cap room. The rest of Bennett's contract remains untouched and Bennett could conceivably earn the money back based on his number of receptions this season. He's still signed through 2015, though this could easily be his last season in Chicago and there have been unsubstantiated rumors that the Bears have been trying to trade him. Bennett has missed virtually the entire presseason with concussion symptoms. Source: The Redzone
I predict Earl Bennett goes to the Vikings if the Bears cut him. The Vikings do love those x-Bears players.
