Alex Smith threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns, and the Kansas City Chiefs defense held when it needed to in the fourth quarter for a 17-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Jamaal Charles ran for 55 yards and caught a touchdown pass for the Chiefs, who made new coach Andy Reid a winner in his home debut. The Chiefs also matched their victory total from all of last season by starting 2-0 for just the second time since 2005. Dwayne Bowe's touchdown catch in the third quarter and Ryan Succop's 40-yard field goal early in the fourth gave the Chiefs a 17-13 lead. The Cowboys (1-1) answered with a deep march into Kansas City territory but had to settle for Dan Bailey's 53-yard field goal with 3:55 left. Offense was terrible. Smith did nothing to win this game. Bryant repeatedly rapes Flowers and the suddenly they ignore, and then no one steps up Sent from my HTC Vivid
you are correct. most of the game, flowers was isolated on bryant man to man. i don't think they went to bryant nearly enough. flowers can't handle bryant one on one. cowboys play calling was definitely a question mark.
Back in the day, Wendy Hamburgers used the slogan, "Where's the beef?" For the Cowboys offense, I'd like to use the slogan, "Where's the change?" Yesterday's offense looked strangely similar to the Cowboys offense I've seen for the last three years. And, Tony Romo did not look right yesterday. His back? His ribs? I don't know. While watching/listening to the game yesterday, Dallas Cowboys Radio Network color analyst Babe Laufenberg kept saying that Romo's footwork wasn't right. For passes that he would throw to his left, instead of pointing his feet to the receivers, Romo would point his feet out, making the ball do weird things. Just thought I'd mention it.
no, i agree. i saw it too. i ended up watching most of this game and something was 'off' with Romo yesterday. His mechanics looked a little strange and some of his passes weren't even close.
OK. I didn't think that the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network went into Kansas, but they do. There's one station. WIBW 580 in Topeka.
I found it interesting that KC Chiefs HC Andy Reid leaves the NFC East and his second through fourth games are between Dallas, Philly, and the NYG.
