Alex Smith led a 10-play, fourth-quarter touchdown drive to give the Kansas City Chiefs the lead, and then the quarterback watched his defense intercept two passes to secure a 26-17 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The offense continually stalled after the defense gave it great field position, however, Smith made enough plays down the stretch to get Kansas City to 5-0. Haha....of course you still manage to take shots at Smith even as he keeps winning and playing better than a certain QB who is a Dolphins fan.
Heys, those shots are well deserved DawkinsINT, Smith really hasn't been the "great" QB people think he is, 90% of his throws are like they were in SF, dinks and dunks. 8 years of hate doesn't just go away my friend. Smith isn't playing better than Colin IMO, the rest of his team is.
I don't really think he's better than Kaep, but I think he gets hated on a bit too much. He's a game manager that uses those around him well to win. The most important stat is W's.
The way the Browns are playing I think Chud should be in the conversation for coach of the year, also Sean Payton. And I'm happy Alex is continuing to have success. There's quite a few teams who'd like their QB to "manage" the games better than they have been I'm sure
Alex definitely gets crap on more than he deserves. Right now he's putting up better numbers and outplaying Kaepernick...yet people won't give him an ounce of credit.
Kaepernick YPC - 13.1 Smith YPC - 11.1 As a reference point - Peyton Manning YPC - 12.6; Drew Brees 12.6; Tom Brady - 10.9; Aaron Rodgers - 13.2
