The NFLPA could advise that the Eagles and Bucs postpone their game Sunday pending an MRSA containment report, according to a report. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that that MRSA, the staph infection that has now reportedly affected three members of the Tampa Bay Bucs, could be a reason for the NFLPA to advise that the game be postponed. Source: CBS.com DawkinsINT's Take: This would totally blow if the game is cancelled. Hopefully it's contained.
Re: Eagles Bucs Game Could Be Postponed Due To MRSA Infections Just read the ex-Chiefs/Giants PK Lawrence Tynes is still battling a MRSA foot infection contracted during training camp for the Bucs. Months of treatment with no resolution. If they should cancel the game, too bad for everyone....except the players.
Its Florida, what do you expect? The whole place is just one big cesspool of disease, improper sanitation, and shoddy personal hygiene. They've got herpes monkeys running around all over the place for crying out loud, of COURSE they have uncontrollable MRSA.
Re: Eagles Bucs Game Could Be Postponed Due To MRSA Infections Unfortunately that's a resistant strain. Fire is the only way to remove that.
a few years ago was'nt this a big problem in the cleveland browns practice facilities? MRSA is something you do not want to mess with.i had a friend who's wife got it and died with in a week.
The whole story of this infection spreading this quickly Is scary. I don't know much about it but it sounds bad. And it must be bad if they are talking about postponing a game for it.
and it has reccured several times at the bucs facilities and is passed on by very brief contact.knowing how tight the league is,i doubt the game gets cancelled.
And your fear is well founded. Imagine an E. coli or parasitic infection resistant to conventional chemotherapeutic therapies. That's what you're looking at here if not controlled 100% at the time of initial infection. If you're in for some Staph infection ugliness that's resistant to anibiotics......MRSA. And what really make it nasty is that it is highly virulent. I wouldn't step foot inside that Tamp Bay facility and they could take away my playing time and paycheck. The alternative could be worse.
