The team announced Friday that wide receiver Justin Blackmon has been suspended indefinitely without pay for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. "All of us who are a part of the Jaguars family care very deeply about Justin and his well-being," general manager David Caldwell said in a statement. "That said, he must be held accountable and accept the consequences announced today by the NFL. "His suspension will provide him the opportunity to receive the attention and professional treatment necessary to overcome his challenges, and we will support him during this time. The Jacksonville Jaguars will evaluate Justin's status once he has successfully met the criteria to be considered for reinstatement to the league." This is the one thing I hate about fantasy football. Yeah, it is an annoyance and yeah, it's okay to be upset about it for fantasy purposes..but when your first reaction to somebody struggling with substance abuse is "freaking eh, I needed him in fantasy football"... it's a problem. not trying to single you out, it's just an annoyance to me in general.
I'm actually not sure why I play it anymore. Probably just competition, trying to win. But ya do feel bad that the guy has had another relapse.
I just love that there are so many talented athletes out there that have a brain the size of a pea in terms on making smart decisions. I think Justin Blackmon falls in this category.
And he is still saying he has no problem with substance abuse. he may be out of the league permanent next year at this time.
