Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel Said To Be Perfect QB For Eagles?

It's been building since before the season - before Michael Vick inevitably was injured, before Nick Foles crumbled against the Cowboys, and before Matt Barkley did little to suggest that he was a franchise quarterback: Considering the coach, the offense, and the likely draft pick, the Eagles and Johnny Manziel - "Johnny Football" - would be perfect together.

Manziel gave the Ducks an oral commitment in 2010 only to decide later that he wanted to stay near his hometown of Kerrville, Texas.

"Oh my gosh, he would be the prototype," an NFC general manager told Greg Bedard of Sports Illustrated in September.

Give me a break.. Johnny Football will be mediocre at best. Sorry but I am not buying his dominance in college will transfer to the pros. Vick is a lot more athletic and IMO a better QB. And Vick is just above average. Thank God there are guidelines to how much a rookie contract could be. Or else we would see another JaWalrus Russell contract and career. my .02

I think he'll still be a first round pick. I just really really don't want it to be to my team.

 

I could see Jerry pulling strings here and drafting him first round. I might have to jump ship if that happens. lol

He will be drafted in the first 2 rounds. Some team will take a chance on him. If he learns to stay in the pocket and not get all RGIII he might do decent. Time will tell though.

 

I forget where I saw this, but I saw a mock draft for 2014 that has Manziel going in the first round to the Texans.

Oh hell no. If we draft him I'm with Agent and bolting. I can hear the QB controversy now when Romo throws a game ending interception. We are already a 3 ring circus. No need to add a 4th.

This guy will be signed under a rookie contract and that is 4 years at no more than 22 million bucks. If jerry sees money signs he can make on and off the field by drafting a son of the state of texas and making money,he will not be able to stop himself.

 

Recruits do that all the time.

I dont really like his size, but this isnt realy true at all....manziels ball placement is tremendous

 

I'm well aware. But that probably puts a little bit of bitterness in the coach's heart for that player.
