NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reported Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning" that Dez Bryant looks forward to signing a long-term contract with the Cowboys in the offseason, per the player's agent David Wells. The star wide receiver still is playing on his rookie contract, which expires at the end of the 2015 season.

"We love Dez all the way," Cowboys COO Stephen Jones told Rapoport.

SteveRobWhatever's Take: The kid can play, he's proven that. The only issues with him are between the ears. I am sure he'll be cashing in big time when the time is right. The one thing I find funny is a grown man who is a millionaire still needs to have the team monitor him because he's prone to bouts of being a dumbbutt.

If his season keeps pace, he'll get paid big this offseason I think

You just wonder if his deal is going to be something like what Larry Fitzgerald got. It's choked out the Cards' chances at building around him.

That's the going rate for a WR. My guess is he will be slotted just below Megatron.

Will they have the money with what they just paid Romo?

Sure, if all they want is to pay for Romo and Bryant to play pitch and catch with a bunch of nobodies. I'm all for the fat contract.

Well he better get his act together or his stock might start falling. He needs to control himself when on the field. The last two weeks dont look good on his part. For what ever reason.

i don't get the problems people have with his "control" at all. especially given the video. the dude had a crapty game last night but he was still all smiles when anyone else did something or when they won. there's literally nothing wrong with how he acts, holy heck

I don't see him being the 'they drafted me and I have so much allegiance that I'll give the boys a good discount' type of guy at all.

Well he is kind of a douchebag other than that.

no, but i see it more as "they've done a lot for me and put a lot of time and effort into helping me improve as a person and player and they're a family." and he is that kind of guy.

Agreed. He's fortunate that his taking off his helmet in the field of play, what I call the Emmitt Smith penalty, didn't cost the Cowboys the game yesterday. He said yesterday after the game that he didn't know that was a penalty. How long has that rule been in effect?

he could have gone 15 spots earlier in the draft and was still one of if not the very first players to sign his rookie contract

Perhaps that was because he had some loans and bling bling to pay off.

He's a bonehead. That helmet rule has been in effect for years. He should know that. He got lucky that penalty didn't cost us the game. I wouldn't give it any thought if he didn't have past issues. Appearing to act like a little baby on the sideline and then taking off his helmet are just stupid.

Cap situation isn't as bad as it looks. Most of its base salaries and not guaranteed money. Dallas can easily sign Dez and still be players in FA if they want

Well, the cowboys are projected to be over the cap in 2014 more than any team in the league but we all know that can be adjusted fairly easily with some reworking of contracts.
