Vick is a locker room leader and if Kelly were to commit to Foles right now regardless if Vick was healthy or not, that might create some acrimony among the players. Bottom line though you got to win, so go with the hot hand.
i'm not sure anyone is sold on Foles yet, regardless of what happened yesterday. he played a fair amount last year and is playing a fair amount this year and he is tough to put your finger on. dude will have 2 good games and then lay a turd. if he could just avoid so many turds, he wouldn't be walking around with the crap all over his cleats (question marks) that most of us see.
I am 100% for Foles being named the starter for the rest of this year. This is not a year where we are truly contending, and even if we were I have more comfort with Foles back there than a remarkably ordinary Vick. #7 is done. He pulls hammies when running for first downs. The things that have plagued him his entire career have not been fixed and are 'unfixable'. Stick with Foles so you know whether you need to look for a QB in the offseason/draft.
That's pretty much every NFL quarterback. Not every NFL quarterback is capable of a game like Saint Nicholas just had.
Get unreluctant, Chip. Can't really say that Vick has you in the plus column. While you're at it, win one at home for your fans.
I don't mind Chip playing the safe card and not committing to Foles while Vick is recovering from injury. No need to make a debate until necessary. That being said, I don't think there are many that truly believe he intends to start Vick if Foles keeps rolling. Outside of the Cowboys game, he's been lights out. Even with that game his QB rating this season is 127.
