The Saints set an NFL record for the most first downs in a game (40) and Drew Brees passed for 392 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-17 victory against the Dallas Cowboys in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The previous mark for the most first downs in a game was 39, which was tied three times prior to Sunday.

SteveRobWhatever's Take: Brees completed 26 of 30 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in the first half. Mark Ingram had a huge game carrying the ball 14 times for 145 yards. He benefitted from the Saints abandoning the pass basically with a huge lead. This was a dominant win for the Saints.

The Cowboys are the definition of mediocrity.

That's not totally true...Kenny Stills for instance made an awesome adjustment to make the catch on the long TD.

The Cowboys defense as a whole was just pretty pretty bad

that's true. the cowboys secondary 'sort of' had one of the saints receivers covered on one play. consider it a moral victory for the cowboys. :newlaugh:
