The fast-improving Philadelphia Eagles defense held its seventh straight opponent to 21 or fewer points on Sunday in a 24-16 win over the Washington Redskins and according to Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, at least part of the credit should go to Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis' game plan and preparation. "They did a good job of scheming us up," RGIII said after the game, per The Washington Post. "They kind of knew what was coming before it was coming and that was disheartening. But like I told the guys, regardless of what's going on out there, we're the players and we have to make the plays work, and we just weren't doing that in the first half." Whether accidental or subtle, the criticism no doubt will be taken as a slight to coach Mike Shanahan and, more directly, to offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. He said it right when he said that the players have to make the plays work (execute). Griffin also should have mentioned that the Eagles have a damn good defense and the 'Skins just got beat.
rg3 is very rarely allowed to call an audible by shanny jr. I think it is complete bullcrap, and we need end the shanny regime asap! as for the skins D,what kind of dumbass draws up a defensive play when you have a lb on mccoy? I'd rather see a new coach, maybe like lovie smith at this point cause all the skins coaches are eaten up with terminal dumbass! does not say much for your coach when he trades 4 first rounders for a great qb and he gives him a 10 cent line to run behind?
On the Dan Le Batard on ESPN, I forget which person the mentioned who studied the tapes but he said that RG3 is right. Philly knew what plays were called, they didn't hesitate on play action plays. He said it seemed like they were somehow knowing the plays and were not fooled.
looked to me they knew the plays right out of the huddle after the first series of the game. when the skins had the ball,i sat down here watching it with my son,and i was guessing rightly what the next play was,and i got probably 75% of them right.
But that's the exact scenario when Lovie was the Bears HC...no OL, no WRs. As long as the drafts were filled with defensive picks, he was happy. Careful what you wish for, Diesel...
