Week 15: Philadelphia Eagles At Minnesota Vikings

First time in franchise history the Eagles have allowed 48 or more points twice in one season.

 

775 combined passing yards for Foles and Cassel. Foles - 393, Cassel - 382.

 

Asiata is first player with three rushing touchdowns in a game vs Eagles since Joseph Addai of the Colts had 4 in 2006.

 

Asiata with 30 carries. McCoy with 8.

 

Called this a loss. Wish i was wrong.

My biggest disappointment is that this game was lost on the coaching staff. The decisions to not kick deep leading to great field position time after time for the Vikings. Going for it on 4th & 1 in their own territory. Shady with only 8 carries. Total wake up call.

 

Depending on what adjustments Chip and Billy Davis make though, this loss could be a blessing in a weird way.

 

Yep this all comes down on chip but i think you are right this could be something that pusheds the team. now go on a six game win streak.

hmmm. did not watch this one but sounds like the vikings offense torched the eagles defense. that has to be a concern.

This is why we lost the game. Leading rusher gets 8 carries. Reid-esque.

 

Very Reid-esque, but the defense not getting stops is why we lost the game. We knew the defense was bad coming into the season. The bend but don't break lasted for a good stretch, but today reality smacked us in the face.

We'll probably make the playoffs, but this defense is not good enough to deliver against a good offense.

 

The Eagles had nine penalties for 94 yards. That doesn't help either. It was a piss-poor effort on defense overall. They got chumped out by a third-team chump at RB and a QB who's damaged goods. Once the offense faced some 3 and out's after coming back to make it 27-22, the Eagles were dusted.

 

Man this was awesome! Just goes to show what can be done when you are forced to open the playbook with your 1&2 RBs not there! Haven't watched Philly much all season but if Chip Kelly is going to be the saviour and take this team to a Superbowl he needs to show more respect to opponents.4th & 1 from your own 20,and your Defence not playing well,just punt the ball!! It's not college Chip,big rookie mistake! I was surprised the Eagles weren't able to adjust in the second half,maybe they needed it to snow.
Packers did them a huge favour.
As I said yesterday Jennings looks much better with Cassel under center.Really didn't expect a win with so many guys missing,was just hoping Vikes could be competitive.Will be interesting to see how Philly bounces back.

My bad. I meant it was a big reason we lost. The pass defense was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from the Eagles. Ever.

 

to me this is on kelly more then ahything else. sure the defense stunk but he gave the vikes a short field ever damn time. they were in a dome so why short kick it ? he let henry kick a 51yrd FG but wont let him kick it in the endzone ? 4&1 on your 25yrd line and you go for it ? mccoy gets 8 carries ?

again yes the defense is not that good, we know that so why put this game on their shoulders like kelly did ?

i wont call it a blessing in disguise but they werent going to win out and this was the game i saw them losing.

now they will run off three victories and go on the road for the divisional round.

 

Have you not seen what Cordarelle Patterson has been doing all year? You kick away from that dude. Six eggs or half dozen, he'd be returning it that far anyway you just eliminate the chance at a return TD. Some of the pooched kicks were fine, the ones where they got the ball at the 40 yd line sucked obviously.

You saw them beating Chicago over Minny? Alshon and Brandon are gonna destroy his defense barring some serious tweaks.

 

Well hopefully they'll be able to get more pressure on Cutler than they did Cassel. And we desperately need Wolff back.
