CBS to broadcast 8 Thursday Night Games in 2014

NEW YORK – The National Football League will team with long-time broadcast partner CBS to produce and televise Thursday Night Football for the 2014 season, it was announced today by NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL and LESLIE MOONVES, president and CEO of CBS Corp., and SEAN McMANUS, Chairman, CBS Sports.

CBS will air eight early season games that also will be simulcast on NFL Network. NFL Network will also televise eight late-season games in the run-up to the playoffs. The mix of games will include 14 on Thursday nights and two late-season games on Saturday.

Still hate the Thursday Night Game premise...

 

Not fond of CBS doing the games OR the Thursday night games.

 

I Would rather watch Elementary on thursday night than football.

 

The NFL putting a lesser, more sloppy product on the field to make a nickel...not surprising. What is surprising is that they didn't split it between CBS and FOX...gotta be more ad revenue there than on NFL Network...

And they are doing this because it is a safe game!? greedy ass bastards!

 

From what I heard this morning, CBS and the NFLN would split the pre-game, halftime, and post-game announcers.

 

are'nt they gonna broadcast all the games on both channels?
