WEST: 1st San Antonio Spurs (50-16) vs 8th Memphis Grizzlies (39-27) I find it amazing that the WEST is so good. Memphis would be the 3rd seed in the EAST. Kind of scary. Spurs have won 3 games vs the Grizz this year, one more game in San Antonio in April. 2nd Oklahoma City (49-18) vs 7th Dallas Mavericks (41-27) The series so far is tied at 1-1 with both team winning on the road. OKC fans shouldn't worry too much. 3rd Los Angeles Clippers (48-21) vs 6th Golden State Warriors (42-26) THIS IS THE DREAM MATCHUP THE NBA wants in the first round. Two awesome teams to watch. So far GSW have the lead winning 2 out 3. However the Clippers just went on an amazing run and are probably the 2nd hottest team in the league behind the Spurs. I don't want this matchup to change for selfish reasons this is basketball heaven for many of us. 4th Houston Rockets (45-22) vs 5th Portland TrailBlazers (43-24) LaMarcus Aldridge is out at least 1o more days. And they need him badly. Lilliard is a star but he needs his PF healthy and ready to defend with Houston owning them so far in the season series 2-1. Lopez will do well against Howard if this series holds. The only real team in the HUNT is The Phoenix Suns who are just 1.5 games back of Memphis. They are probably the biggest surprise in the NBA this year and Hornacek has done miracles and will probably win Coach of the Year. EAST: 1st Indiana Pacers (50-17) vs 8th Atlanta Hawks (30-35) Atlanta is going to have to hold on to this spot very hard because the Knicks are surging late. Atlanta will be no trouble for the Pacers in the Playoffs, neither will NY for that matter. :) 2nd Miami Heat (45-19) vs 7th Charlotte Bobcats (33-35) Fun and useless fact number 1: To date the Miami Heat have played the least amount of games amongst all the NBA teams 2 less :) Fun but usefull fact number 1: The Bobcats have the easiest remaining schedule in the EAST Charlotte stands no chance of winning the series. 3rd Toronto Raptors (37-28) vs 6th Brooklyn Nets (34-31) Am I allowed to comment??? Forget it, the Raptors stand no chance against the Nets. The series is tied at 2-2 but the two games the Nets lost came on back-to-back nights for the Nets where they are 1-9 (worst in the league) Many Brooklyn fans want to move up to the 3rd seed but are worried about having to face either Washington or Chicago who have been dominating them this year. 4th Chicago Bulls ( 37-30) vs 5th Washington W Bullets (35-31) Useless fact number 1: I can't call the Washington W. the W. They are the BULLETs so I will just say Washington. Washington is 2-0 vs the Bulls this year. They play one more. Noah is probably making a very good case for being a 2ndMVP (1st MVP is Durant or LBJ) this season. Wall is probably making the same case though. Could be a great matchup here. On the bubble. NO ONE. Well the Knicks have won 6 straight and the Zen Master signed on to be President today but they are still 4 games back at (27-40) One more useless fact. The Sixers have now lost 21 straight games taking Tanking to whole different meaning and the New Commish Adam Silver likes to suggest that this is a great tactic.
I am a homer. But honestly with the series tied at 2-2 and the fact that we lost 2 of those games on back to backs (something that doesn't exist in the playoffs) we own them. Obviously i would prefer if we had home court but that is looking less and less likely.
