Following his release, the Eagles issued a statement saying they decided to part ways with DeSean Jackson "after careful consideration" but withheld further comment. The reasons he was released had mostly to do with "work ethic and attitude," a league source told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio. Jackson said Friday that a call from Eagles coach Chip Kelly to inform him of his release was a "one direction" conversation and that Kelly only told him: "We're moving forward. I think it's best for us and I think it's best for you." Added Jackson: "I was sitting there waiting for the reason why, but that's basically all I can (recall) from the conversation. ... I got off the phone. I was like, 'Are you sure? That's it?' We hung up. That was it." Source: ESPN
That is interesting but not really breaking news to me. That to me is like me being fired from my job and my boss not telling me why.
if you get fired, that is all you have to be told. you are not entitiled to a reason. dance around this all you wish, but this is a boss firing a worker when it all boils down to it.
he's black? he looked dark brown to me! lol i had an eagle fan on facebook tell me that chip kelly was the next bill walsh! i had to remind him that he should play football wearing protective gear, including a helmet.
that is probably true for every coach in every sport.you have to be a bit arrogant to be successful in life i think, and coaching is no different.
God I hate to say this. Kelly is one arrogant pr**k. But I've loved him for years now. I told my friend (an Eagles fan) 2 years before he left Oregon that he should coach the Eagles. (granted they still had Vick as the starter) but I thought it was a match made in heaven. He almost left Autzen for the Browns!!!!!!! It was a year before he took the Eagles job. He is arrogant but he will turn out to be one of the better ALL time coaches
