    I prefer to stream def but the league I am in will have continuous waivers so I will lose wavier priority to change def every week. So is is best to do A B or C? The def scoring is higher than just basic yahoo scoring.

    scoring:
    0 pts allowed= 12
    1-6 pts=10
    7-13 pts=8
    14-20 pts=6
    21-27pt=4
    28-34pts=2
    35+=0

    sack=1
    fumble recovery=2
    safety=2
    block kick=2
    td=6
    3 and out=1
    4 down stop=1
    tackle for a lose=0.25

    A) draft a def earlier than I want that can play every week.

    B) draft 2 def that can be used opposite each other and switch def when I go to pick up a skill player. (Maybe do this just for the wk 1-3 when you get the first break out players)

    C) just stream and don't waste draft position or bench slot on def.

    Since you have a fairly high scoring system for this league, I'd go with A. I'm not a fan of B as that extra spot can go towards RB/WR depth. And C sounds like you'd be giving up on a chance to get players by grabbing a defense every week.

    If you go with A, you really only suffer whichever week that defense has a bye. Then you'll have to claim another defense off waivers.

    download our defensive rankings from the members area -

    Wait for the Seahawks to get drafted then wait a couple rounds after them and you should find Carolina still on the board, which is our #2 ranked defense this year. If someone already snagged them then look to the 49'ers.

    But don't fill defense until you fill your starting skill positions (QB/WR/TE/RB) and for the love of god wait as long as possible after that.

    Agreed. If the top 2 are gone, wait awhile.

    ADP:
    Seattle is going in the 8th round. That's too high for a defense. For me anyway. I don't care how good they are. You could get a good deal with the Panthers, as they are going in the 12th.

    I'd target Panthers or 49ers around rounds 9-10, depending on how the draft goes. Late bye weeks. Panthers have the latest bye week this year, you essentially have them all year until the week or two before playoffs and will require minimal roster turnover with them.

    The bye week is a good point.

    All good advice the problem is these guys are dumb. There will be run on DEF in the 8th or 9th as soon as the first DEF is pulled and they go by the yahoo stuff 99% of the time so it will be SEA CAR SF run.

    If they go by yahoo, then wait it out. Picking up a defense that early isn't worth it.

    Yahoo has Carolina as the 5th defense. The enitre NFC West makes up the top 4. Carolina, KC, and Cincinnati are all good defenses. If people start taking them straight down the list, you could still end up fine.

    Also, I'm down on Arizona's defense now. Losing Darnell Dockett will be a huge lose.

    Unfortunately, I agree with you. I've never understood why people are so high on the Cards' defense with all of the LB's from last year gone in the first place. With Dockett out...meh.

    That was your first mistake ;) I should write a piece solely on telling owners to ignore ESPN's and Yahoo's rankings.
