I don't know, Greg. Look at Cutler's history vs Green Bay and it has NOT been good whereas Romo typically lights up the Saints when shootouts are needed which they likely will be Sunday night, won't they? The Packers may have lost their last game but they did shut down the Lions passing offense more than they ever have in the past and Peppers will be looking to prove the Bears they gave up on him too soon, I think. Then again, maybe this is all the Packer fan in me coming too, you're the expert.
Both are QB1s. I understand what you mean though. I have Cutler ranked just a bit higher because Romo has been inconsistent through 3 games. Although the Saints give up 278 yards passing a game. Just something about Romo I don't like.
Dallas is a running team now, which doesnt bode well for Romo stat line. If Dallas is airing it out its because Romo turned the ball over and dug them a hole and that's where Ryan thrives as a DC. If Romo has to put the ball up alot Sunday, your not gonna get good point totals from him
Cutler might not have fared well against GB in the past but its a new day. GB's defense is not very good thus far. At all. Gimme him throwing to Marsh/Jeff/Bennett against that mess any day over Romo playing desperate catchup throwing to (aside from Dez) inferior talent. And, probably, the other team a good 2-3 times. tl:dr - Cutler is currently the better playing qb with the better surrounding cast, and playing a bad defense. I'll take that all day.
