http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/31/eagles-fire-v-p-of-player-personnel-tom-gamble/ wtf !!!! that little f--king weasel howie roseman couldnt handle an atcual football guy who has a proven track record to keep butting heads with him over the asinine draft picks he makes. this team is f--ked with that frigging nerd. expect more danny watkins and marcus smiths.
marcus smith was all roseman. just like watkins was and all the other garbage under his watch. ive heard rumblings that there have been some issues between chip/gamble and howie and that a power trip was taking place. no doubt the eagles mighty PR machine will start making it look like its howie to the rescue.
I thought that Gamble/Chip had more power in last year's draft than Howie. I figured that would be the reason for this move.
i dont believe that for one second. roseman has lied about who makes the picks before when he claimed the watkins pick was a group decision. then the WIP folks played clips of him claiming credit right after the draft that he researched and found this gem at OG. banner jr
I'm not so sure that was the case this past draft though. Seemed like they gave Chip a lot of influence with Tom in his corner. One thing I'm sure of though is that the Chip's Desean mistake certainly played into Howie's favor. I was personally in favor of Chip having a bit less power in personnel decisions, but didn't want Tom gone. I hope this is not the beginning of Chip leaving.
No, it was not like that at all for the Eagles in this situation. They had a 10-6 record and while there was blame going around for it, nobody was calling for anyone's head from the fan base outside of getting rid of certain players and perhaps Billy Davis. The Eagles did not get rid of a coordinator, they parted ways with a personnel guy who was in Chip Kelly's pocket according to most close to the team. This was an upper-management power move over personnel decisions and who should have more control over it, the GM or the coach. Smeags seems sure that Roseman was the one who drafted Smith, but I'm not so positive about that. Lurie seems to have a lot of trust in Roseman, but if Roseman was the one who screwed up that pick, I don't think Lurie would instantly back him with this move to get rid of Gamble. I would like to think that Lurie cares more about the team than Howie.
I was at the car wash this morning and wearing an Eagles hat. This dude in an Eagles windbreaker comes up to me and says, "Wearing your Eagles gear even though we didn't make the playoffs....you must be a die-hard like me". I said, "Yeah...how crazy is the whole situation with Tom Gamble gone?". Him: "We'll draft a linebacker to replace him". WTF??????????????? Some die-hard fan he is.
Maybe he meant they are going to draft a really smart kid who played LB in college and move him right into the front office? It could be a new way to fill front office positions?
Woah another level type shirt, maybe he is the die-hard and I'm the dope. He's probably posting on his football MB about the dumbass he met at the car wash.
Yeah, that rumor is going around. Supposedly they are going to announce something big according to Florio. I'll be so f--king pissed if Lurie lets Chip go over Roseman.
