Phils dropped 2 of 3 against the Giants in SF. 2 of the losses were blown saves in the 9th inning, including an excruciating Giants walk-off 3 run inside-the-park HR. Yesterday though Harper had 4 hits, 3 doubles and a HR, so there is hope that he is getting his swing back. It would be great to have standard Harper back in the second half of the season.

First place lead is .5 game over the Mets. The Mets have a double header today and the Phils are off, so that will change by night's end. Phils now go to SD for 3 this weekend. That's another place we always struggle.

Phils record in series this season: 20-9-1.

Phils lost 2 of 3 against the Padres. Both losses being painfully winnable games per usual. This offense just is not clicking. I hope the Allstar break does them good.

First place by a half game over the Mets. We go back home to play the Angels after the break.

Phils lost 2 of 3 against the Angels. Luzardo & Suarez both had bad starts. Luzardo has been inconsistent all year, but I'm worried about Saurez. He's had a great year and was an All-Star, but his velocity is way down the past couple of weeks. The good news is that Harper appears to be back. He hit 3 HRs in the series.

First place by half a game over the Mets still. Now Red Sox come in for 3.

Phillies finally won a series again by taking 2 of 3 against the Red Sox. That's the good news. The bad news is how they lost last night. A 5-9 lead going into the 5th. They had hit 4 HRs and Luzardo was throwing a no-hitter. Then he imploded. Gave up a double, walked 4 batters, and gave up a Grand Slam. Suddenly they were down 6-5, and eventually lost 9-8 in 11 innings. It pretty much killed the vibe of winning the first two games. I don't understand Luzardo at all. He's got great stuff, will be dominanat, and then just instantly seems like a minor leaguer.

The Mets swept their series against the Angels, so now the Phils are in 2nd place. 1/2 game behind the Mets. They have the 2nd Wildcard spot. This weekend we go to NY to play 3 against the Yankees.

Phils record in series this season: 21-11-1.

Phils take 2 of 3 in NY against the Yankees. It was disappointing not to sweep with Zac Wheeler pitching yesterday, but a good series win overall. The bats really exploded in the first 2 games, scoring 21 runs.

The Mets swept the Giants and have won 7 in a row, so the Phils are now a game & a half behind the them. Still have the 2nd Wildcard spot. We now go to Chicago to play the White Sox for 3.

Phils record in series this season: 22-11-1.

Damn it, Chuck!! I was really hoping we'd get Duran and turns out your Phillies took him away.

The Duran trade was awesome, but losing 2 of 3 to the lowly White Sox was not. Only scoring 3 runs in what was a bullpen game for the Sox is pathetic. I can't stand the inconsistency of this offense. I really hope we get a bat in a trade today.

Luckily the Mets got swept by the Padres, so we are only a half game behind the Mets. We still have the 2nd Wild Card spot. This weekend will be tough as the Tigers come to town for 3 games.

The only bat added was Harrison Bader??? So disappointed that there was no real help to the lineup. From the 5 spot on down it's atrocious. Oh well, I'm used to cold bats in October from this team.

Good weekend series for the Phils as they took 2 of 3 against the Tigers. Duran saved both wins, only needing a combined 9 pitches. He hit over 103MPH on a pitch. He's pretty electric.

Phils passed the Mets by half a game to retake the division lead. Next up, the Orioles come in for 3.

Phils took 2 of 3 from the Orioles. It was disappointing not to sweep them as they were lackluster in energy yesterday, but overall they got the job done.

Phils are now up 2.5 games on the Mets as they got swept by Cleveland. Next up the Phils go to Texas for 3 against the Rangers.

Phils record in series this season: 24-11-1.

Phillies swept the Rangers in Texas, a place they had not won in since 2014. The bad news is that Zach Wheeler does not look right. His velocity is down and his command is not the same. Looks like Aaron Nola will be back next weekend. I think they should rest him a few starts. Otherwise, the team is really rolling right now.

Phils are now up 5.5 games on the Mets since they got swept by the Breweres. Next up is a 3 game series in Cincinnati.

Thanks for sweeping the Rangers. One less team for us to worry about.

BTW, M's - Phils series next week. Be ready xD

Phils lost 2 of 3 to the Reds. The bats were awful, scoring just 1 run in the last 2 games combined. I'm really starting to worry about our starting rotation though. It was supposed to be our strenght, but neither Wheeler nor Suarez look right. I really hope Nola is sharp when he returns.

Phils are 5 games up on the Mets. 4 game series in DC against the Nats up next.

Zach Wheeler has a blood clot. Most likely done for the season. I feel horrible for him. Hopefully it's not too bad. This team is screwed without him though.

Phillies only managed a four game split with the Nats. Nola getting shelled in his first game back after the Wheeler news is disappointing. He needs to get it going to save this starting staff without Wheels. They scored 11 runs today, but the offense was bad again in the first three games. The best thing about the series, besides Duran being ok after being hit by the liner, was hearing Eagles chants in DC.

Phils up 5.5 games on the Mets, who play tonight. We now come back home for a three game series against some scrub team.

Phillies sweep the Mariners after what had to be their best offensive series of the season. In their last 4 games they are averaging 10 runs a game. They also had 20 or more hits in two of the games against Seattle. The great thing to see is that production came from up and down the lineup. Stott and Kepler are finally getting things going for the bottom of the order. Realmuto is swinging better than he has all year as well. With the sudden uncertainty of the starting pitchers these is a great development.

Phils are up 6 games on the Mets who play tonight. We have a 3 game weekend series against Washington before the big showdown with the Mets.

Phils record in series this season: 26-12-2.
