http://www.petitiononline.com/Walsh/petition.html As I'm sure all 49er fans know, and most of the other fans who follow football, 1981 was the year that Bill Walsh brought the 49ers out of the cellar and began arguably the greatest dynasty in football history, producing some of the greatest teams and players ever to take the field. This petition is being circulated, to be given to the 49ers, reccommending that rather than wear only a patch or black armband or something of the like, the team takes the field for the entire season wearing the same uniforms we wore in 1981, in honor of Coach Walsh.
#774 for me. This is what I said. "Hey guys, die hard Jets fan here. And I am saddenedm by the news. Bill Walsh is part of the NFL Family, and a great coach. He made what the Niners, and all of football what it is today. If you are a true football fan, you should cherish Bill Walsh's moments. The Niners should wear the Bill Walsh era uniforms. R.I.P. Coach Walsh. Thanks for listening."
Uh...they wore the same uniforms they wore in 1981 (aside from subtle changes in the distance between the stripes on the sleeves made in the late 80's) from 1976-1993, the beginning of 1994, and then again in 1995. What does 1981 have to do with anything?
Thinkin' it might have something to do with that whole first franchise Super Bowl , beginning of the dynasty, thing... something like that...
You don't seem to understand--the uniforms have nothing to do with 1981 because they wore the same uniform in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, early 1994, and 1995. If you want to honor the 1981 season, you might think about doing it some other way...because the uniforms have nothing to do with 1981.
