That's a small team. 12 rounds, what up with that?
So how many teams in the league and what's your scoring? I can give you a better analysis with that info please.

Your RBs are pretty good for drafting at the 9 slot. Normally I'd say go get more depth but with the small team size that would be hard to do. I'd drop the Vikings and try and get another RB. Your RBs are ok but you aren't protected against injury or if 1 of them stink it up this season when only carrying 3. With the small bench size you got there's still probably a serviceable RB on the waiver wire. Who's out there for you to potentially pick up? I don't like the Ted Ginn pick. Rookie WRs seldom do anything worth a crap. Colston, Boldin, and that fella on TB whose name escapes me at the moment are the only rookies in the last 10 years to have 1000yds receiving as a rook. They aren't worth the risk. Go pick up a veteran WR.

There's 10 players and I guess we were just all lazy and only did 12 rounds I think I have a few more spots available once the team gets set up on line.

I know... Ted Ginn was silly, but that was more to piss off some of the Ohio State guys that are on my league. plus he was my seccond to last pick before the Vikings. Since the league isn't quite set up yet, I'm not sure who's left at RB... but you're right, I need another one.

I wonder if one of those Ohio State boys would trade me someone good for someone mediocre if I threw Teddy Ginn in the deal... lol.

I liked having New England for my defense last year. They always picked me up points. And although I understand the idea of not drafting defense before positional players. A good defense that can score you 10 points can win you some close matchups. Jacksonville is a good defense to have also....lots of turnover with that team.

    QB Carson Palmer
    WR Marques Colston
    WR Hines Ward
    WR Santana Moss
    RB Steven Jackson
    RB Willie Parker
    TE Jason Witten
    BN Deuce McAllister
    BN Marshawn Lynch
    BN Donte' Stallworth
    BN Jake Delhomme
    BN Matt Jones
    K John Kasay
    DEF Jacksonville
    BN Buffalo

I like the quality depth I have at RB. People were drafting TE's and Defenses higher than normal. So I decided to draft more for highest value than need in a couple rounds. I was able to scoop Marchawn Lynch in the 9TH ROUND!!

There are still a couple quality people on waivers that could be picked up.

I hate my friends. Just wanted to start off my post with that. We've had the same group of 10 guys playing on yahoo for 6 years. Every year we argue for a month on when to do the drat. I'm commish so everyone just yells at me about it. Anyways, this year no one would post their availability until the last second so there were no more evening draft slots left on yahoo, The only times left are mon-fri 9am-4pm EST. Since all 10 of us are represented in all 4 time zones and 1 in Japan it can get difficult to schedule a time that everyone can do. 9-4 just wasn't working. Someone suggested starting a league in espn, drafting there and then transfer the results manualy to yahoo so we can preserve our league history. A great idea. Well, of course there always has to be 1 butthole. One guy decided to make a stink and refused to sign up to espn because he "don't want no espn spam". Then we couldn't get a hold of one other fella who wasn't returning emails or phone calls. So we decided those 2 would be autodrafted for their ignorance. Come draft time another fella logs on a few minutes late and espn won't let him int the drat room because it had already auto picked rounds 1-4 for him. He called me to tell me, I told him the picks he got and he gets mad, goes back to yahoo and deletes his account. This guy is one of my closest friends in the league and a great fantasy football player. So now the espn draft is finished and I can't enter it into yahoo because we now only have 9 people. I'm so freaking pissed right now. I was gonna post the draft here but ended up ranting. If you read all this thanks and sorry for temporarily derailing this thread. I'll post my draft later today or tomarrow. I'm too upset right now about all the nonsense and drama in my league. I did pretty good drafting btw.

I love IDP leagues. That's a very good draft in an IDP league. Most usually have a team defense as well. I'm kind of surprised a guy like Cutler slipped to the 12th round but extra positions in front move everyone.

  11. wide right

    wide right Grumpy Old Man

The run on QBs went early which makes no sense in a league with 50yds/pt. Obviously Payton went in round 1, but then Brees and Palmer went in round 2, Brady in 3, Bulger in 4, Hasselbeck and Rivers in 6. I always wait on QBs and in an IDP league like you said good players can fall father because of the extra positions. So while my idiot friends were busy drafting QBs early I was getting Edge in 3, Owens in 4 and Boldin in 5. No I don't play with goobers, just mildly goobered people. Vince Young went in 9 and Kitna and Eli in 11. At that point I knew I could wait on cutler who I wanted all along. I was planning on grabbing him between 7-10 but he fell all the way to 12. Since he's still young I decided to go with Losman as a backup. One of those two will break out this season. Normally I only draft 1 QB. My friends laughed at the pick. They'll see. When I went with Vernan Davis in 8 that started a TE run and helped to protect Cutler and Brandon Jackson whom I really wanted all along but had to wait as Ryans and Briggs offered more value and points for my team. My friends like to draft based on the past more than based on potential. That's why I'm the only 2 time champ in that league.

I like the depth you built at RB early. Lewis and Bullock should bring in a lot of tackles, did Mike Peterson or Rashean Mathis get drafted? I was able to steal them from waivers in my league and they may bring big benefits.

If I should drop a WR to have a back up TE, wich one would you choose?

    and for wich one?

    and who should I drop?

Ernest Wilford is pretty useless or drop a DB. It's not hard to pick up a reserve for a one week fill in when your bye hits. No sense in wasting a roster spot. Your bench is for depth. DBs are a dime a dozen.
