Pick up Clark or Baker. I may have read that Olsen may have gotten dinged up recently for Chicago. Grossman has gone to Clark in clutch situations last year. And I wouldn't drop any of your backup WR's. I would drop your lowest rated defensive player. Mathis maybe a better pick up at DB as well (60+ tackles & 8 INTs last year).
Yahoo league, 8 teams, snake draft, pick 8... 1. (8) Brian Westbrook RB 2. (9) Laurence Maroney RB 3. (24) Reggie Wayne WR 4. (25) T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR 5. (40) Jerious Norwood RB 6. (41) Vince Young QB 7. (56) Santana Moss WR 8. (57) Vernon Davis TE 9. (72) Carnell Williams RB 10. (73) Bernard Berrian WR 11. (88) Santonio Holmes WR 12. (89) Matt Leinart QB 13. (104) Robbie Gould K 14. (105) Carolina DEF 15. (120) LenDale White RB (drafted just for a laugh, dropped and picked up James Jones, GB WR) I know I had a couple reaches, and I took Leinart over Cutler, but I feel confident that the risks I took have a good chance of paying off. Leinart I think will have a big season. I know, drafting a kicker that high is somewhat silly, but with only 8 teams there are still a lot of good players left on waivers, I don't think I could have drafted anyone in his place that I could not get similar production from off waivers if need be, and IMO having a decent kicker could be key. I hate 8 team leagues. Everyone gets a good team and stars are always available on waivers. No fun in that. Young went too early. In round 6 of a 8 team league you should have gotten a better QB. He's essentially the same as Leinart who you got 6 rounds later. Carnell Williams went way too early. Your WRs are kick butt. So much so that I'd rather have LenDale than Jones.
Yeah I agree about an 8 team league, it seemed way to easy to draft a good team. It's just with some people on a smaller FB fansite, I think initially we had 16 people, and the head guys decided to split it into 2 8 team leagues rather than one 16 teamer. Now I'm in the 8 team league and the other only has 6. I personally think it would have been a lot more fun and challenging to play a 14 team league myself. Thanks for the input, this is my first year playing FF, and actually this was my first team I drafted myself. Really White over Jones? I considered it, it was only a half joke pick, as he is the starter, and has actually looked sharp so far in preseason. I do have a feeling about Jones though, he might beat out Greg Jennings for the #2, it sounds like Farve and Roidgers really like him, and Driver's foot is bothering him. Hmmm. I don't think there is much danger of losing out either way, as I said, the waiver wire is deep with decent players.
Alrighty... RATE MY TEAM(12 team league) Well I'm in my 12 team league(in which I had the #6 overrall pick). So its pretty hard to know who I'm going to get but heres my team. Comments and concerns are much appreciated: QB: Matt Hasselback RB: Rudi Johnson RB: Marshawn Lynch WR: Chad Johnson WR: Larry Fitzerald WR: Darrell Jackson TE: Jeremy Shockey D: Chicago Bears K: John Kasey Bench: Jerious Norwood Derrick Mason Ladell Betts JP Losman Brandon Marshall Leon Washington I think my team is alright. Its not as great as last year IMO when my team looked stacked but my team isn't horrible. My bench looks a little thin and I might need another RB if Lynch doesn't pan out for me. But what does everyone think of my team? Any suggestions or comments?
You have 3 backup RB's that are an injury away of being starters, that's not all bad. :) I would say you'll compete, good team. (watch the waiver wire for better backups)
Thanks. And I agree. I figured I would draft some decent backup RBs and hope someone gets hurt or is ineffective. I really wanted Travis Henry and/or Jay Cutler I made a trade for Henry so lets see how that goes.
That is a very good team especially for a 12 team league. Your WR's should all post 1000 yards this year. Even if Marshawn doesn't pan out (many are expecting very good things from him though) Ladell Betts will probably be starting in Washington and Norwood maybe the starter in Atlanta by then. JP Losman is a very solid backup. Do you feel you stack up against other competition well in your league? I am in 3 different fantasy leagues and here are my teams after waiver moves and drafting. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated. Teams 1 & 2 are standard leagues with 25 yards/pt passing and 10 yards/pt rushing and receiving. TD's are 6. Team 3 is an individual defensive player league with flex positions on offense as well. The scoring remains the same, but there are extra positions per team. Team 1: Marc Bulger Santana Moss Vincent Jackson Chris Chambers Brian Westbrook Reggie Bush Todd Heap Nate Keading Baltimore Def Bench: Marion Barber, Ladell Betts, Jake Delhome, Ben Watson, Mike Furrey, Buffalo Def Team 2: Carson Palmer Marques Colston Hines Ward Santana Moss Steven Jackson Willie Parker Jason Witten John Kasay Jacksonville Def Bench: Deuce McAllister, Marshawn Lycnh, Donte Stallworth, Eddie Kennison, Jake Delhome, Buffalo Def Team 3: Drew Brees Torry Holt Randy Moss Santonio Holmes Frank Gore Deuce McAllister Jason Witten Ladell Betts - Flex WR/RB Terry Glenn - Flex WR/TE Josh Brown Baltimore Def Bart Scott DeMarcus Ware Lance Briggs Quentin Jammer Rashean Mathis Bench: Jay Cutler, Antwan Randle El, Leon Washington, Correll Bulkhalter, Morlon Greenwood, Buffalo Def Any and all feedback is appreciated.
Out of all your teams I like team 2 the best. It seems well balanced. Also are you a closet Bills fan?? Having the Bills Defense in all 3 leauges ;) I'm in 3 leagues as well but the only one for money is the league I posted. I think my team will compete this year. I will post all the other teams later on today and see how you guys think I stack up. I have a thing about getting good WR's to help my team out. Last year I had Bulger, Larry Johnson, Chad Johnson, Torry Holt, Javon Walker, Antonio Gates, Jones-Drew, and then I rotated Kickers and Defenses via Waiver wire, and I had a few decent backups. So I dont think it matches up to last year but I had the #1 overrall pick and passed on LT. If I would have had LT I would have won the league. So this year my WR's are in a similar path and should help my team out. I hope Betts doesn't start since Portis is my all time fav RB. I really wanted to get Henry and or Cutler in my draft and I failed to get either of them. I'm excited about my team and this week is going to go by slow. :(
I'm not a closet bills fan. They're just the highest rated defense from last year on my waivers. I am hoping team 1 does well. I have a lot invested in Santana Moss and Randy Moss. My WR's always seem to end up hurting my team in the end because I end up playing musical chairs with average players hoping I pick the right one. We'll see how it goes. I'm usually the most active in viewing the waiver wire so hopefully if I struggle, I can find the diamond in the rough.

For a PPR league you got a great lineup. I'd be worried about Winslow though. Allen Rossum was released last week, wasn't he?
Steelers picked up Rossum and I've got Broncos rookie te for backup.....winslow could do well for me. If he doesn't I have a backup...
That is a well balanced team. Kitna should be a very good pick up at QB since you get points per completion as well as yards. All the experts believe his passing numbers should be very high, INT's not withstanding. What does your bench look like?
Thats who I thought you meant. ;) Jay Loves to go his way but he is Number 3 on the depth chart now. I expect him to be #2 pretty soon though along with Marshall moving ahead of Stokely on the depth chart.
NFL.com, 12 team league, autodraft (and this time I actually took the time to rank my players and set my draft order, although the computer did not seem to follow my drafting order by position at all, and my player rankings only sporadically...) Grossman, Delhomme and T. Green are starting (for their team) qb's that are still out there, I'm thinking Grossman would be an upgrade over Garcia. Available RB's are pretty weak...Chester Taylor, Kevin Jones, Deshaun Foster, Mike Bell, D. RHodes for example WR's, same, the usual FA suspects. Any advice? Team Talk??? This is my first year doing this, never have done it before, so honestly, I don't know what the FREAK, I am doing, I made my team, and everything, I'm doing the one off of NFL.com, and I was wondering if you could give me some pointers / trades or w/e the hell.
