"Playoffs?! You kidding me, Playoffs?!" Yes, Jim Mora. I'm talking about Playoffs. Not saying that we're in it already, just saying that we control our own destiny, and the self-sacking QB is no longer at the helm. I'm guessing you watched Tennessee's (6-4) abysmal performance against the lowly Broncos (5-5), who are (or were, anyway) at the bottom quarter of PF-PA ratings. Cleveland, right ahead of us at 6-4, has no defense. None. I'm pretty sure they're only starting nine people on that side of the ball. Jacksonville (7-3), questionable, but I say they make it at 10-6. Now on to us. Sitting at 5-5, picking up where we left off at Carolina thanks to Andre Johnson's return and Reggie Bush's overratedness. Why didn't we draft him again? Oh, yeah. He's a bust. Kubiak hates busts, unlike Casserly who welcomes them in at any opportunity. :close_tema1: /rant about Casserly Our schedule looks daunting, but really, not so much. Cleveland Tennessee Tampa Bay Denver Indianapolis Jacksonville 6 games, 6 opportunities to win. Cleveland: Possible repeat of the Bengals/Browns TD-fest in September. Neither team has great secondaries, and the QBs have a field day. Tennessee: They played a team that was the 3rd worst in the league not even a month ago. And they lost by a good margin. VY is showing his ape skills by running around in circles and eventually getting somehere. Tampa Bay: The only person I could name on this team is Jeff Garcia. If you don't know who they are, they can't be good, right? Denver: Teacher vs. Student match-up between coaches. Kubes knows too much about Mike Shanahan to let this one get away. However, Green, Dayne, and Adimchinobe Echemandu (spellcheck needed, of course) need to step up. Indianapolis: Finally looking vulnerable again. Squeezed out a win against a not-so-great Chiefs team thanks to good-for-nothing Viniateri. Keep playing like that and we'll take your Christmas game twice in a row. Jacksonville: Battle Red Day. Nuff said. Okay, maybe not 'nuff said', but this will hopefully be a SNF game the way things appear right now. Exploit our new-found passing game (which by then won't be new anymore) and take away their run D capabilities. San Diego: Oh wait, I'm out of games. Crap. :icon_sad: If my playoff qualification order is correct, this is what the games look like to get us into the playoffs: Chance 1 => Texans go 9-7 HOU wins JAX, IND, TEN, CLE TEN loses to (IND, CIN, SD) or 4 combined CLE loses to (2 of CIN, BAL, ARI) or 3 combined DEN loses to (SD, MIN, OAK or KC) or 3 combined Chance 2 => Texans go 10-6 HOU wins IND, TEN, JAX, CLE, (TB or DEN) TEN loses (IND or SD) or 3 combined CLE loses any 2 (likely: CIN, BAL, ARI) Chance 3 => Texans go 11-5 HOU wins IND, TEN, JAX, CLE, TB, DEN TEN loses 1 AFC game or 2 total CLE loses 1 game Not impossible, but enough to keep me excited about the Texans while I'm in Seattle. Damn Seattle, I wanted to be at least even with them when I got there. :icon_sad:
Good luck on making it. I hope y'all go 10-6 ;) I'd like to see the Texans in the playoffs as well as Denver. I've always liked Kubes and got nothing but love for him. Hopefully we can both make it to January. :)
Denver is going to win the AFC West. I thought they would be a playoff team at the start of the season but that was before we found out that Norv Turner COULD in fact heck up coaching the most talented roster in the NFL. The Chiefs aren't going to do it and Oakland is already thinking about next year with the whispers that JaMarcus Russell will be starting soon. It's either going to be Denver or San Diego. And with Denver headed into the softer part of their schedule, I like their chances to finish better than the wildly inconsistent Chargers. I also have huge soft spot for the Texans as well. Warren Moon was my favorite player when I was growing up (after Walter Payton retired of course) and I was a HUGE Houston Oilers fan....HUGE. I almost died when they lost that Wild Card game in Buffalo....and I die a little inside everytime they show the highlights on NFL Films. But I would love it if the Texans made the playoffs, I would be pulling for them like nobody's business. It would be a huge step in the right direction for the franchise if they could pull it off.
Cant name anyone on Tampa Bay? Garcia Hilliard Galloway Alex Smith Ernest Graham Rhonde Barber Trotter Cato June Jerramy Stevens Spires Hovan And Mr 60+ yard FG Against the Eagles, Matt Bryant However, The Texans I say Lose AT LEAST vs Jags, Colts, Broncos, and Bucs. just my opinion. Browns and Titans is unsure really.
The daunting last two weeks of the schedule will kill any chances of playoffs, the Colts and Jaguars could well be fighting for the top spot in the division or a wildcard spot so they shouldn't be stepping off the gas at all. The Texans have no chance in my opinion.
